Escape Glasgow - Escape Room FAQs

Today we’re going to be coming up with some interesting frequently asked questions from the public, so we can hopefully answer some of them as clearly as possible and help people who visit our website and are unsure about what to expect. Here at Escape Glasgow we work hard to make sure everyone who visits us has a great time. Read on to see our FAQs and hopefully they will answer any questions you may have.

What are Escape Games?

If you don’t know what Escape Games is, then this question will hopefully provide you with all the information you need. Escape Games is a game where a group of between 2 and 6 people are locked in a room and have to find and solve a series of clues and puzzles to get out. All rooms are themed, and the chosen themes are taken from popular culture. It could be anything from casinos to Sherlock Holmes or sci fi to Area 51 (Roswell).

Why do people go to Escape Games?

Escape Games are popular because they’re so much fun. They’re inclusive, imaginative and original, and provide a great way to unwind and relax with friends or family. They’re designed as a way to simply have a good time, but they’re also popular with corporate teams because they foster great team building and as part of a celebration for birthdays, anniversaries and/or hen/stag dos.

Is there an age restriction?

No, but it’s a good idea if you bring an adult if you’re under 16 and anyone under the age of 10 may find it a little taxing, so it might be better suited to older children. However, there’s no reason why you can’t bring them.

I’m not good with enclosed spaces should I not come?

The rooms are much bigger than you’d imagine, also, if you are a little claustrophobic, we can leave the doors open if this helps to make you feel better. The rooms can be unlocked too so you can leave the room whenever you need to.

Is there a minimum or maximum amount of people allowed to play?

We usually suggest that you have at least two people and anything up to six, that way there’ll be enough people to enjoy themselves and enough room to move around so you’re not tripping over each other!

How much time do you need to get around the room?

You will have an hour in the room with your friends and family and in this time, you’ll need to solve the clues and puzzles carefully hidden around the room. You’ll be briefed first and then you’ll have your hour inside the room. We usually suggest you arrive half an hour early so we can do the briefing, so figure in an hour and a half.
