Glasgow is a fascinatingly beautiful city, but what do you do when it’s raining? Rather than avoid the city altogether there are plenty of different ways of keeping yourself busy. We’ve compiled a list of places to go and things to do in Glasgow on a rainy day, so you need never be bored in the city again.
The Riverside Museum
will give you some of the world’s best ships, cars and trains than you can imagine, so if that’s the kind of thing you love, then it’s the perfect destination. There at least 3000 objects to enjoy and with a café available throughout you’ll have refreshments sorted, so you can spend as long as you like here.
is a great place to visit. The medieval architecture alone is worth exploring, and not far from the cathedral itself is one of the oldest houses in the city, known as Provand’s Lordship. There is also St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art and there’ll be plenty of religious artefacts to fascinate as well as a café, where you can relax and unwind after a busy day exploring.
The Science Centre
isn’t far from the Riverside Museum which we mentioned earlier. If you love science, then you’re going to love the Science Centre. It’s full of scientific concepts and technology that is explained in a family friendly way and is truly inspiring. You’ll also find an indoor café too, so if it’s raining outside you don’t have to get wet.
The People’s Palace
is a fascinating collection of Glasgow’s history from both the 18th and 19th centuries. There’s plenty to enjoy and learn about here, and you may find you come away with a better more insightful knowledge of Glasgow than you had before.
If museums aren’t your thing then how about some shopping? No, not outdoors if it’s raining, Glasgow has plenty of indoor shopping centres, so you’ll be able to shop for what you like. There’s plenty of big names in fashion so if you’re after quality, then you’re bound to find something that fits the bill.
