A Jazz Festival that features all the best in live music featuring both jazz and blues. It’s a great way to spend a summers day, so if you love jazz and you fancy attending, you can find out more at 400 Great Western Road in Glasgow.
Piping Competitions don’t get better than this with a great competition for the under 21s. There’ll be some of the greatest pipers from across the world competing in 4 heats to fight for a place in the final. There’ll be competitors performing at a Street Cafe, not far from The National Piping Centre for your entertainment, with a hidden panel of judges. The Grand Final will be held at the Strathclyde Suite which is at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Tickets are available from their website and are £10 for adults with £8 for children and OAPs. The event is held from 8th to the 14th of August for 2016.
The Merchant City Festival is held during July and August, the dates being 30th July to 7th August. It’s a festival with art, music, food and drink, theatre, street art and film, so there’s plenty to entertain. Held in Glasgow city centre it also has car boot sales, a unique Bowie and Roxy Music club night and even a vintage tea dance.
Another festival with food, music and drink being the mainstay of the event. There’s craft beers and food with gin tastings with rum nights. You’ll also find cocktail lounges and much much more. So whatever your tipple, you’ll find that the North Hop Festival has a lot to offer.
This beautiful country park is a great family attraction and it’s easy to see why. There are some great activities to enjoy with great road and public transport links to the park, so it’s not hard to get here. There’s watersports, bike hire, a cafe and some great funboats. You’ll also find that Strathclyde Country Park also hosts some great music festivals and nature walks as well as club activities and various fireworks events, so it’s worth going along to see what’s on offer.
The Glasgow Mela is a multicultural festival held on the 17th July, at Kelvingrove Park, with great theatre and music performances, food, gifts, clothes and so much more for people of all ages.
