A unique and entertaining way of spending the evening with the spectacular Sharmanka founded by Eduard Bersudsky. Sharmanka means Barrel-Organ in Russian, but there's a lot more to it than that. This wonderful theatre has been based in Glasgow since the mid-nineties and is one of the city's star attractions.
The performance consists of carved figures made of old scrap, which dance hauntingly to carefully crafted choreography with music and light. They tells stories that range from tragic to comedic covering the adventures of life and death. This innovative show has naturally won the Creative Scotland Award in the mid-noughties and it's easy to see why.

How about a lunchtime theatre programme, well that's what you get with A Play, A Pie and A Pint, which was founded in 2004. If you like your lunchtime filled with drama, then this could be for you. There's nearly 40 plays a year and the whole event has been around for 23 seasons. You'll see there's a new play every week and the plays are at 1pm from Monday to Saturday. Also known as the Lunchtime Theatre, you'll find it at Oran Mor on Top of Byres Road.
This is one of the oldest theatres in Scotland that's been entertaining audiences for over well over a 100 years of music and comedy, and just about everything in-between. You'll find it in the Glasgow's theatre district, and you'll find plenty to entertain you whenever you visit. You'll find the Pavilion Theatre at 121 Renfield Street.
If comedy is your thing then The Stand Comedy Club could be what you're looking for during your time here in Glasgow. There's a different show every day and there's bound to be something there that tickles your funny bone. You'll find The Stand Comedy Club, Glasgow at 5 York Place.
In Scotland, this is one of the best venues for music and is renowned throughout the world. There's also plenty of new talent as well as more established artists with a capacity for 300. It's certainly supported some amazing artists over the years who've gone on to achieve worldwide success. Another great music venue where you can listen to both international and national music artists, and if you like, watch sporting events too. There's some excellent facilities here, and it often attracts over a million visitors to the venue each year.
